Watch Dogs PC requirements outed ahead of launch

Publisher Ubisoft has confirmed the Watch Dogs PC system requirements, with the eagerly awaited game to be rather demanding on your gaming rig.

With a Watch Dogs release date having recently been confirmed for May 27 following a sizeable round of delays, Ubisoft has now issued a list of ‘minimum’ and ‘recommended’ specifications for the PC iteration of the next-gen title.

According to the publisher, the ‘minimum’ Watch Dogs PC system requirements demand users’ machines to run at least a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 3Ghz AMD Phenom II X4 940 processor on top of 6GB of RAM and a 64-bit version of Windows.

On top of this, either 1GB Geforce GTX 460 or Radeon HD 5770 graphics are required as a baseline entry point.

For those after a smoother, more visually impressive gaming experience, Ubsisoft’s ‘recommended’ list of Watch Dogs PC system requirements, gamers will be better off with at least 8GB of RAM, a dedicated video card pushing more than 2GB of RAM and  more powerful, multi-core processors.

Having originally been pencilled in to be a launch title for both Sony’s PS4 console and Microsoft’s Xbox One, Watch Dogs was delayed ahead of launch, with the Wii U iteration of the game continue to be hit by troubles.

Last month Ubisoft revealed that game would launch on May 27.

“We are pleased to be able to reveal to gamers all over the world the new release date for Watch Dogs,” Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA Senior VP of Sales and Marketing at Ubisoft said in making the announcement.

“We are extremely confident that the additional time we afforded the dev team to refine and polish the game will be more than worth the wait.”
