Watch Daniel Radcliffe as Sam Houser in the first BBC GTA drama trailer

The BBC has released the first teaser trailer for the GTA drama, Gamechangers, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Bill Paxton.

Radcliffe plays co-founder and president of Rockstar Games, Sam Houer, with Bill Paxton as the now disbarred lawyer, Jack Thompson.

This is the first teaser trailer for the BBC GTA drama, annoyingly called Gamechangers, and as got us pretty excited about seeing it air later this year.

“The Gamechangers tells the story of how British game designers pushed boundaries into uncharted territory, of how those fighting GTA become consumed by a battle which overwhelmed their lives, and how the subsequent fallout threatened to bring down leading players on both sides,” reads the BBC’s summary of the project.

“This drama is for an adult audience and has not been authorised by the producers of Grand Theft Auto. Rather, it is based on court documents and interviews with many of those involved in the real events behind this compelling story.”

In case you’re not familiar with the story behind the Gamechangers drama, lawyer Thompson waged quite the war against video games, with GTA being his particular bug bear, and filed multiple lawsuits against its developers and publishers.

He even once described the GTA series as a “murder simulator”.

Basically his argument was that video games promote copycat violent crimes and act as a space where people can legally carry out violence.

Gamechangers is set to air September 15 on BBC Two at 9pm UK time.
