British Open Golf 2018: How to watch all the action from Carnoustie online

British Open Golf 2018: Watch the action online in the UK

This year marks the 147th edition of golf’s Open Championship, better known as the British Open or even just the Open. Want to watch all the action as early favourites Rory McIlroy, Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose and 2017 champion Jordan Spieth vie for the Claret Jug in 2018? Here’s how to live stream the Open golf from Carnoustie.

Sky is the only UK TV channel airing this year’s Open Championship live, having acquired the rights to the prestigious major from the BBC in 2016. You can still catch highlights on the Beeb in the evenings though.

The pay TV giant is showing the Open on its Sky Sports Golf channel, as well as Sky Sports Main Event. Coverage kicks off at 6:30am BST on Thursday and Friday, 9am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.

This means that, if you already subscribe to Sky Sports, you’ll be able to watch the golf via the broadcaster’s Sky Go streaming service at no additional charge.

Sky Go is available on most mobile devices, desktops and laptops, while the Sky Sports and Sky Sports Mobile TV apps are yet more options for smartphone and tablet users.

Here are the quick links you need to get started:

Don’t have Sky Sports? No problem.

If you want to follow the action on Sky Sports, you can purchase a daily or weekly Sky Sports pass via Sky’s Now TV offshoot. That’ll give you access to all of the Open golf, which you can watch on your TV or stream to your chosen device.

A weekly Sky Sports pass costs £12.99, and the normal price of a day pass is £7.99, making the weekly pass much better value, even if you only want to watch the final two rounds over the weekend. Check it out here.
