Watch Boston Dynamics scientists bully this robot
Earlier this year, Google-owned Boston Dynamics announced it would shelve its four-legged robot mule project after the military deemed the robot too loud to operate in combat.
Now it seems the company is taking out its frustrations on another of its robots, the Atlas.
Check out the video below where scientists put the newly developed version of the Atlas robot through its paces:

Although it seems like an exercise in bringing about the eventual robot uprising, all this robot trolling actually has a purpose.
The team at Boston Dynamics is trying to help the robot deal with extenuating circumstances and novel situations.

As the video explains the new version of Atlas is “designed to operate outdoors and inside buildings.
“It uses sensors in its body and legs to balance and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its head to avoid obstacles, assess the terrain, help with navigation and manipulate objects.”
The latest iteration of Atlas is around 5′ 9″ tall, which is about a head shorter than the DRC Atlas, and weighs 180 lbs.
