Wacom Cintiq 13HD unveiled

Wacom Cintiq 13HD has been unveiled as the latest in Wacom’s line of pen tablets for creative professionals.

The Wacom Cintiq 13HD is the smallest of the Cintiq range, but follows in the footsteps of its Wacom Cintiq 24HD sibling, providing a slim 13.3-inch Full 1920 x 1080p HD resolution LED screen fully compatible with a range of pens and accessories.

“We’ve gained valuable customer feedback in developing our latest Cintiq which will support professionals and help them spur creativity on the 13-inch high resolution screen,” said Wacom Europe’s Product Manager of Creative Products, Guido Möller.

“Not only that, it also enhances productivity and saves creator time with new features. As with our entire Cintiq range, the new Cintiq 13HD provides a completely immersive and ergonomic pen-on-screen experience that adapts seamlessly to all working environments and practices.”

Wacom Cintiq 13HD Features
Although it is the smallest in its range, the Wacom Cintiq still offers the same functionality as the larger tablets for the creative professional markets. The 13.3-inch tablet offers a Full 1920 x 1080p HD resolution capable of displaying 16.7 million colours with a wide 178 degree viewing angle. Wacom claims that this combination makes the tablet provide optimum image qualities, which is important to designers and other creative professions.

With a slim design, the Wacom Cintiq 13HD has a built-in stand capable of adjusting to one of four settings ranging from flat to levels of 22, 35 and 50 degree levels. The unique stand is also removable so that the tablet can be held like a sketch pad.

As with other Wacom Cintiq tablets, the Wacom Cintiq 13HD enables users to draw and create directly onto the 13.3-inch screen with the company’s interactive pen display. The Wacom Cintiq 13HD comes bundled with the Wacom Pro Pen, redesigned to be cordless and battery free whilst still providing the same ergonomic and comfortable moulding. The Pro Pen has an impressive 2,048 levels of pressure and tilt sensitivity to accurate represent the user’s lines and sketches.

In order to keep the Wacom Cintiq tablet and Pro Pen safe, the tablet is supplied with a protective case and a selection of spare nibs for the Pro Pen are also included.

For increased functionality and usability Wacom has also built four customisable ExpressKeys into the Wacom Cintiq 13HD’s slim body, enabling the user to associate application-specific shortcuts to each of the buttons and the Rocker Ring.

Wacom Cintiq 13HD Release Date and Price
The Wacom Cintiq 13HD will be on sale from April 2013, available via Wacom’s online stores and a variety of other retailers. The 13-inch tablet is set to sport a price tag of £749.99.
