Vodafone has confirmed it is to stock a selection of Windows Phone 8 handset, with the likes of the Nokia Lumia 920 hitting the UK network provider for the first time today.
A late arrival to the Windows Phone 8 party, Vodafone has revealed that from today, February 6, the red-hued network will offer the a selection of Windows 8 powered handsets, including a selection of 4G ready models that will be able to be upgraded to Vodafone 4G plans later in the year.
“We’re pleased to announce that from today our customers in the UK can get their hands on a wide range of Windows Phone 8 devices,” Srini Gopalan, Consumer Director of Vodafone UK said. “We know there is a lot of interest in both the Windows Phone experience and the range of smartphones that use it.”
Gopalan teasing the company’s upcoming Vodafone 4G plans added: Two of the Windows Phone 8 devices we are launching today also form part of our growing range of ‘4G-ready’ handsets. Anyone who buys one of our ‘4G-ready’ phones will be good to go as soon as Vodafone 4G arrives.”
Kicking things off with the 4G ready Nokia Lumia 920, the Vodafone Windows Phone 8 line-up will see the flagship Nokia handset made available in both yellow and black forms on the Vodafone Red Data plan. Available for free on a £42 per month, 24 month contract, those eager to snap up the Nokia Lumia 920 on Vodafone will see the handset paired with unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 2GB of monthly inclusive data.
Joining the Nokia Lumia 920, Vodafone has confirmed that it will also add the Nokia Lumia 820 and the HTC 8X to its Windows Phone 8 collection with both handsets free on £33 per month, two year Vodafone Red plans with unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 1GB of data.
Completing the Vodafone Windows Phone 8 line-up, and seeing the network cover all market needs, the lower end Nokia Lumia 620 and HTC 8S are both now available. The entry-level device have been handed £21 per month, 24 month deals that will see the handsets paired with 300 inclusive minutes, unlimited texts and just 250MB of monthly data.
