Entire Bond back catalogue - including Casino Royale - available to subscribers.
It was probably inevitable that once Richard Branson made his – extremely brief – cameo in Casino Royale James Bond would find himself comfortably snuggled up with Virgin (add your own ‘s’).
Consequently to mark the Virgin TV 16 May premier of the best Bond in many years, the company will offer its customers on demand access to every movie in the franchise (that’s 21 films – for the purists).
20 of those films – from 1962’s Dr No, to 2002’s Die Another Day – will be available for the bargain price of £2.50 with Casino Royale costing slightly more at £3.50. Each ‘virtual’ rental covers unlimited viewings over a 24 hour period.
“Everyone has a favourite Bond film and we’re offering a huge slice of 00-heaven around the clock,” said Ernie Cormier, Virgin Media’s COO. “Customers can dip into the line-up one at a time or even pig out with a Bond marathon.
With more than 41 hours of 007’s antics at your fingertips this could indeed be some couch-fest with six Bonds, 40 baddies, 40 Bond Hirls and more than 80 modes of transport from a series which has grossed in excess of $4bn worldwide (No, I didn’t do the stats myself).
Funnily enough, all this only represents a small fraction of the 500+ films available from Virgin’s ‘TV on Demand’ meaning you need never step out the house again. Remember kids: fresh air is ”bad”.
