Virgin Media launches 4G plans with data-free WhatsApp & Facebook Messenger

Virgin has finally launched its 4G service, and it’s provided a load of extra features to tempt you over to its new plans, including data-free WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger use.

The company has launched a range of new plans, which allow you to send messages, pictures and videos through WhatsApp and Messenger without eating into your monthly data allowance – for no extra cost.

If you sign up for one of the 4G tariffs, you’ll also benefit from the company’s Data Rollover offer, which allows you to use data left over from a previous month in the next.

The new flexible 4G mobile plans start at £6 per month for a 30-day rolling contract with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 300MB of data.

At the other end of the spectrum, you can sign up to the £25-per-month plan which will get you 5,000 minutes, unlimited texts, and 20GB of data.

All Virgin Media 4G plans are available as either Freestyle, which lets you split the plan and handset elements of a contract over a 24-month period, or SIM-only contracts.

Last month Virgin Media introduced a “Trade Up” scheme so you can use the existing value of your phone to upgrade to the new handsets.

Whether you opt for a Freestyle or SIM-only plan, you’ll also have the option to move up and down plans each month depending on your data needs.

As Virgin uses EE’s network, you can expect great coverage and some nippy download speeds along with the promotional extras.

Plus, the company’s got 250,000 Wi-Fi hotspots you can make use of via the Virgin Media WiFi app, to keep you connected when the data signal isn’t quite cutting it.

You can check out the full range of 4G plans on the Virgin Media website.
