New super low response times are go.
There’s such a thing as déjà vu, but déjà vu ”deux”? Yes, the year’s most resilient monitor is back and this time it has brought along a record breaking friend.
It was back in March that ViewSonic’s 19 inch VX924 shattered lap records with its four millisecond (ms) response time, then it repeated the feat by dropping down to three ms under rather curious circumstances in August. Now it’s back with a revision, called the VX922 (1280 x 1024), which will take this quick silver model down to two ms.
It has also been joined by a real show stopper: a 20in widescreen brother called the VX2022 (1680 x 1050) which has an incredible 3ms response time. Sadly right now ViewSonic doesn’t have any shots of either model, but that’s no great loss since a photo isn’t going to give any insight into response times and we all know what a 20in widescreen monitor looks like… So instead I’ve got nostalgic and dragged out the VX924 for what is in itself a record breaking third news section appearance.
Far more important than imagery, is the cold hard fact that the VX2022 absolutely creams the previously record breaking FP202W from BenQ, which just last week held the title operating at 8ms. You don’t stay on top for long in this industry.
We’ll see these new models leaving scorch marks on shop shelves from November, but as yet pricing remains a mystery.
Viewsonic has finally taken some pics… feast your eyes on these lovelies:
The VX2022 was particularly worth the wait I think.
