The internet is already filled with a disconcerting number of videos showing Tesla's autopilot veering into oncoming traffic.
And this latest video isn't going to do much for Tesla's PR either.
A clip has emerged online of a man seemingly asleep at the wheel in traffic, while the autopilot of his Tesla Model S takes care of the actual driving.
The autopilot system is an impressive piece of technology. It uses ultrasonic sensors to allow Tesla cars to steer themselves, avoiding obstacles and changing lanes autonomously.
It will work both at high speed and in traffic jams, as shown in the above clip.
But we're certain it wasn't invented so that drivers could take a quick nap on their way to work, or drift off during a long journey.
Tesla has made clear on numerous occasions that the system isn't fully autonomous and that drivers should keep their hands on the wheel even when autopilot is engaged.
The company told Tech Insider: "Since the release of Autopilot, we’ve continuously educated customers on the use of the feature, reminding them that they’re responsible for remaining alert and present when using Autopilot and must be prepared to take control at all times."
Is Tesla's Autopilot feature simply asking for trouble? Let us know what you think in the comments.
