Canon EOS M - All About the Compact 650D Alternative

The Canon EOS M has just officially launched. It's the camera king's first compact system camera, offering DSLR image quality in a body that you can fit in a pocket - rather than having to buy one of those bulky camera bags.

CSCs are nothing new, but as the first from the biggest name in cameras, we thought we should find out a little on what the EOS M is all about. We talked to Canon spokesperson Dave Parry from Canon UK, asking just that.

And what he says kinda makes us want one, in spite of the £770 price. The image quality of the £800 Canon EOS 650D SLR packed into a much, much smaller body? We'll have some of that special sauce. Are you tempted by the EOS M? Drop us a comment below.

Struggling to understand the niche Canon are aiming at with this massively overpriced yet under-spec'd camera. I think I'd have a Nokia 808 instead of this!

It just seem to be another comically over-priced camera system. I guess they have to try - nobody will be buying compact cameras in three years so the only niche left will be expensive prosumer models.
