The new Vertu Signature Touch has been announced, combining high-fashion looks with much stronger specs. All with a sky-high price tag, of course.
English luxury smartphone maker Vertu typically makes stylish smartphones with premium materials priced well beyond the reach of most people. We’re talking the sort of prices you might pay for a really good watch here.
Curiously, though, Vertu handsets aren’t always on the cutting edge of smartphone technology. The Vertu Signature Touch looks to address that.
As rumoured earlier in the year, the new flagship model boosts the phone’s internal specs to the level of current flagship Android phones. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 810 CPU, which is backed by a higher-than-average 4GB of RAM.
That’s the same amount of memory as can be found in the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
The screen isn’t quite so impressive. It’s a 5.2-inch 1080p LCD number, which falls short of the QHD examples found in the similarly sized Samsung Galaxy S6 and LG G4. The screen is made of sapphire glass, though, so it should be more scratch resistant than either.
Around back you get a 21-megapixel camera with an f/2.2 aperture and a dual-tone LED flash, as well as phase detection auto-focus and 4K video recording.
You also get a fairly generous 64GB of internal storage as standard, as well as a 64GB microSD card bundled in. That latter point actually marks the new Signature Touch apart from other recent Android phones.
Of course, the Vertu Signature Touch has always marked itself apart from the rest by its meticulous construction and eye-watering price tag.
On the construction front, there are elaborate new flip-up metal panels (or “gull-wing doors” in Vertu’s parlance) for accessing the SIM and microSD slot. There’s also the usual range of luxury leather material finishes for the back of the phone.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the new Vertu Signature Touch this October, with prices starting from £6,500, and going right up to £13,700. Yes, you read that right.
Those inflated figures get you much more than a glitzy phone, of course. They also pay for a concierge service, which provides 24-hour assistance and priority bookings on special events and experiences.
