Velocity 2X coming to Xbox One and PC this summer

Sierra has confirmed Velocity 2X is coming to Xbox One and PC this summer.

The publisher is teaming up with indie developer FuturLab to launch the game on PC and Xbox One.

Currently available on PS4, PS Vita, PS3 and even the old PSP, soon you’ll be able to play the shoot ‘em up on your Xbox One, Mac, Linux and PC soon.

FuturLab confirmed it is handling the development of the ports, but Sierra will be publishing the titles.

“Self publishing is HARD. I spent more time doing PR and marketing on Velocity 2X than I spent designing levels. I became a bottleneck for the whole project. That was far from ideal,” said FuturLab’s James Marsden in a blog post.

“Thanks to blogging it’s now common knowledge that marketing is just as important as making a great-innovative-artistically-stunning-multiple-award-winning-GOTY (some people might say more important).”

FuturLab still has all the rights to the Velocity IP and will be working with Sony in the future along with Sierra.

“FuturLab still loves PlayStation and its loyal players, and we’ll continue to work closely with Sony to make sure the fan base we’ve worked hard to build is well served.”

The Xbox One, PC, Mac and Linux editions of Velocity 2X will exclusively offer daily challenge stages as well as all the bonus stages from the Critical Urgency and Dual Core DLC packs from the original PlayStation releases.
