Vax unveils new floorcare foursome

Floorcare specialist Vax has announced a new range of innovative products, including three new vacuum cleaners and a hard floor cleaner to scrub out those tough stains.

New to its cordless vacuum cleaner range is the Vax Air Cordless Lift and Air Cordless Switch. The Air Cordless Lift is an improvement on the Air Cordless U86-AL-B, which we reviewed last year and scored 8/10 overall.

The key difference is that the main vacuum section lifts completely away from the upright base, making it perfect for tackling stairs or cleaning dog hair from the boot of your car. It also has a light to illuminate the dark recesses of your haunted house… or under the sofa.

The Air Cordless Lift will cost £350, with the smaller and cheaper Air Cordless Switch going for £179.

If you’re a hard floor dweller, meanwhile, there’s the Vax Floormate Cordless. This battery-powered cleaner will scrub, buff and clean your floors and even dries as it goes. It lasts 30 minutes on a battery and (if you’re anything like us) it will make you want to throw your mop out of the window.

We saw it in action and it was impressive, ever if its £250 price tag makes it roughly 250 times more expensive than a mop. It will clean a lot better, though, and we’ll putting it through a full test in the near future.

Saving, arguably, the best for last is the new Vax Air Revolve. It’s not a cordless vacuum cleaner, but it’s an impressively innovative new take on the cylinder vacuum cleaner that we think rivals will want to copy.

Key to its appeal are the 360-degree wheels, which ensure it doesn’t matter which way up it is. It just keeps going regardless. Leave it upright, meanwhile, and it will rotate on the spot as you clean around the room. Neat.

Other nice features include fingertip controls on the main cleaning wand and an easy, pop-out dustbin. The Vax Air Revolve will sell for £300. See below for more pics.
