Valkyria Chronicles 4 release date – When’s it coming out?
SEGA has confirmed that Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be launching in Japan in Q2 2018. A worldwide release is set to follow later this year.
In terms of platforms, it’s planned for release on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The 2nd and 3rd titles in the series were sadly not released outside of Japan, so it’s nice to see Sega so eagerly approaching localisation this time around.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 story – What’s it about?
Taking place in the same time period as the original Valkyria Chronicles, this travels to a different part of the world with a unique cast of characters taking charge. Set on the continent of Europa, war has broken out between the Atlantic Federation and Eastern Imperial Alliance.
The ongoing conflict leads to the formation of Operation Northern Cross. Commander Claude Wallace and his comrades are given the responsibility of successfully completing the operation before it’s too late.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 gameplay – How does it play?
Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a strategy-RPG where you take control of a squad of soldiers across a large battlefield. You’ll need to strategically maneuver different classes across terrain in order to wipe out enemies and complete objectives. These change depending on the mission, forcing you to adopt varying strategies in order to escape unscathed.
With the exception of a few faces integral to the unfolding narrative you’ll be able to customise your party with different classes to fit each new scenario. Outside of battle you’ll be free to converse with allies and purchase new equipment. Some battles will also involve vehicles capable of wiping out infantry with a single devastating blast.
