Uncharted 4 makes one last trip to the mo-cap studio

The motion capture for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is finally wrapping up, as Naughty Dog’s Jeremy Yates takes the stage “one last time.”

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has had a troubled development cycle. Subject to multiple delays and staff dropouts; Drake’s final adventure has been a hard one to make.

But now it seems production is finally wrapping up on the PS4 exclusive. Lead animator Jeremy Yates has confirmed that mo-cap for the game is now reaching its end.

Posting on his twitter account, Yates posted a picture of himself in the “drake suit” saying “Donning the Drake suit just ONE LAST TIME.”

Uncharted 4’s initial mo-cap apparently wrapped up last October (via Gamesradar) so additional work could be used to correct past mistakes or add small changes to the game.

Nolan North and the rest of Uncharted’s cast aren’t involved in this process, so it’s unlikely we’ll see another delay before the April release date.

Uncharted 4 will be launch with its own limited edition PS4, complete with a unique controller, exclusive content and a physical copy of the game.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is coming exclusively to PS4 on April 29.

This will be Nathan Drake’s last hurrah, but developer Naughty Dog hasn’t ruled out the possibility of a prequel or future games without the charming hero.

It would be hard to imagine an Uncharted game without Nathan Drake, or perhaps Naughty Dog should move forward onto something new.
