UK Game Releases This Week: Fallout 4 is finally out on PS4, Xbox One and PC

The wait is finally over! This week we can freely explore the Boston Wasteland in Fallout 4. If nuclear devastation isn’t your cup of tea, Rise of the Tomb Raider or Football Manager 2016 could be more your style. Unfortunately all of these are a bit violent, especially the last one.

Fallout 4 (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

It’s been a long time coming, but Bethesda is ready to unleash Fallout 4 onto the world, and we’re more than prepared for it. The long awaited sequel will take place in Boston, putting you in the shoes of yet another vault dweller as you emerge to take on the wasteland. Fallout 4 will introduce new crafting and shooting mechanics to the franchise, allowing you to shape the wasteland like never before. Oh, and there’s a pretty cool dog too, shame it isn’t a pug though.

Rise of the Tomb Raider (Xbox One, Xbox 360)

Lara Croft is prepared to raid even more tombs, and she’s even managed to put on a coat this time. Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel to the popular 2013 reboot, set to take Laura to a plethora of different locations in her search of answers and cool treasure. A brand new weather system changes how Lara can hunt and navigate in each environment, forcing her to adapt and change her equipment and skills to survive each new challenge.

Football Manager 2016 (PC, Mac, Linux)

It’s time to get your yearly football management groove on. Football Manager 2016 is probably what you expect, with a few new additions thrown in to spice up the formula. FM 2016 introduces two all new modes. Fantasy Draft Mode lets multiple players play together, constructing a team on a strategically fixed budget. Create-A-Club is a little more exciting. You can design kits, cherry pick players and engineer stadiums however you like before diving into a professional league. You still can’t take to the pitch as the manager though; maybe next year.

Rodea: The Sky Soldier (Nintendo Wii U, 3DS)

It’s nice to see a small, niche Japanese title such as Rodea: The Sky Soldier crop up this week amongst all the AAA explosions. Developed by Kadokawa Games, Rodea: The Sky Soldier is an action title which, as you might have guessed, takes place in the sky. You can control your character by drawing on the touchscreen of the 3DS or gamepad, otherwise more traditional controls are available. The cutesy and compelling art style makes Rodea an interesting prospect for Nintendo fans, and well worth checking out if you get the chance.
