The re-branding and monetization of the brand 'Trusted Reviews' goes on. You'll be taking on 'Which?' next. Strange time to launch a loss making magazine, especially since by the time it's even gone to print 90% of the pages will contain obsolete technology.

I hope the niche that the 'old school' TR's used to fill, is re-filled by another site soon. Perhaps TR's has just becoming a victim of it's own success?

7 years since I last purchased a magazine on TV buying, sure times are tough and every one's got to turn a euro. But I've got a bad feeling about this. Still bet it's a one off issue. Even as a stocking filler , impulse purchase. NO NO & NO.

Thanks for the comments. The magazine is a one-off at the moment, although we may do it again, as a way of spreading our product knowledge to a wider audience. A lot of people aren't buying the best technology because they're not clear on what they want. We can help with the magazine and promote the website at the same time. This isn't completely a moral crusade, obviously. This is a branding exercise and we are seeking to make a profit, but those are just two measures of success, and both ones which help us make the website even better.

I think its a good idea, however, it's sensible that this is planned as a one off for the moment. Obviously this magazine is not aimed specifically at regular TR.com readers because we crave up to the minute news - and crucially, the website being free has an obvious advantage. Yet for people who don't use the internet regularly (yes these people still exist) and for people not accustomed to reading reviews, the people who just chase megahurts and megapixels, it should educate them and be quite useful. I wouldn't pick up a copy myself I havent bought a tech/games magazine for years! but I would buy it for someone else as a stocking filler. Even if someone got it me i would actually thing it's a cool present and would read a fair bit of it.

I see what some other commenters are saying though, the website must take absolute priority, and I think the website needs to give more information appreciated by tech geeks, it does seem a little dumbed down lately - and updated far less (could just be me) I wouldn't worry about alienating people with too much tech stuff, people like to learn as they read!

Good job on the magazine, but re-focus this site on what made it so great!

Where's the electronic version?

IPC fancy taking on the established "gadget" mags that are T3 and Stuff?

but front and centre of the magazine cover is "Tablet vs Laptops" - the readership surely has to be connected to the internet? So is this mostly an exercise is broadcasting the TR brandname (and URL) to a wider audience, an audience who whilst using the internet nevertheless remain unaware of TR?
