Donald Trump’s Twitter account got deleted and the internet obviously loved it

Donald Trump, spray tan aficionado and erstwhile President of the United States (POTUS), is fond of an ill-tempered Twitter rant or three – much to the chagrin of ordinary social media users all around the world. For a few brief moments earlier today, though, it seemed like justice had been restored, as a ‘rogue’ Twitter employee took it upon themselves to delete Trump’s preferred social media klaxon.

You read that right: for a brief but glorious few moments, Donald Trump was unable to tweet from his personal @realDonaldTrump account. His removal from the microblogging platform was all too short – he was offline for a total of 11 minutes, but boy were people happy about it.

It’s understood that the Twitter employee in question was on their last day, so as well as regarding their actions as a heroic act of vigilanteism, it’s also worth mentioning that it’s one hell of a PR stunt by the person in question.

Twitter, of course, has been keen to distance itself from the “human error” and says it will be conducting a “full internal review” to prevent similar incidents occurring in the future.

Whatever steps the social media giant sees fit to take, it’s unlikely to match the impact Trump’s brief Twitter downtime had on the internet – whoever did this is basically drinking for free for the rest of their life.

In true Trump fashion, America’s 45th President was back at his keyboard in double quick-time, reassuring the masses that he was unharmed by this morning’s shocking events.

That 11 minutes, though? It’ll be the best 11 minutes most of us have fully clothed for quite some time.
