Hasbro and Space Ape Games have announced Transformers: Earth Wars, a free-to-play RTS coming to mobile.
Games in the Transformers universe are nothing new, and they’re normally rather good, but this will be the first time we’ve seen our favourite talking robots in an RTS.
Earth Wars will see you play as Optimus Prime or Megatron, giving you the opportunity to recruit allies and do battle with the enemy to secure vital Energon supplies.
You will also need to construct the famous space bridge to allow the transportation of reinforcements from Cybertron, the Transformers home planet.

Julian Farrior, CEO of publisher Backflip Studios seems pretty excited about the game, which will draw inspiration from the Transformers Generations Prime Wars Trilogy.
"The Transformers franchise is like no other. The story that has carried on through generations has drawn millions of fans who can’t wait for what’s next Working in conjunction with Hasbro, we’re bringing the Transformers franchise to life in one of the most popular game genres."
The dialogue in Earth Wars is written by Transformers comic veteran Simon Furnham, who will be joined by original voice talent Peter Cullen and Frank Welker.

Transformers: Earth Wars is scheduled to launch worldwide this spring as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases on iOS and Android devices.
The last Transformers game we got to play was Transformers Devastation by Platinum Games. It was a neat little action adventure that combined the combat mechanics of games like Bayonetta with gorgeous, retro-inspired visuals.
