Great specs. Looks, not so much.
Toshiba’s X205 grabbed the title of the first notebook to offer 8-series SLI so great things should be expected, at least on the hardware side, from its successor, the Qosmio X305.
LogicTV has somehow snagged some pictures and specs of the forthcoming gaming system so here’s what we can expect:
*3GHz Intel dual-core CPU.
* nVidia Geforce GTX graphics with 1GB RAM.
* Up to 4GB DDR3 RAM (meaning this is a Montevina system).
* Dual 200GB 7200rpm hard drives.
* 17in 1,680 x 1,050 resolution.
* HDMI and S/PDIF outputs.
* 4.1-channel Harmon Kardon speakers.
The looks aren’t quite in line with the internal hardware, although it is possible that the leaked shots are of a special edition model. Hopefully that is the case as the red flame graphic on the lid is pretty garish if you ask me.
Pricing is, oddly enough, not mentioned at this early stage but a prospective release date of the 14th of July is suggested. Given this is the same date as Montevina’s (or Centrino 2 as it’s now known) launch has apparently been pushed back to, we’re not disputing the claim.
