Toshiba unveils two new Windows 10 tablets

Toshiba has just jumped on the Windows 10 bandwagon with a pair of new tablets.

In actual fact, it’s more like one core tablet that’s shipping in two variants – the Encore 10 and the Encore 10K.

The Encore 10 is a standard tablet, while the Encore 10K is a hybrid devices that Toshiba hopes will sit well with students.

Both tablets boast the same innards, but the 10K comes with its own keyboard dock, hence ‘hybrid’.

The tablets feature 10.1-inch displays at a Full HD resolution.

Powering the devices is Intel’s Atom x5 processor, which comes paired with 4GB of LPDDR3 RAM.

There’s 64GB of storage as standard, but a microSD slot also features for power users.

Other features include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, a micro HDMI port, and a Micro USB port.

Where the Encore 10K is different is that it has a keyboard dock, but not just any keyboard dock.

The dock actually has its own battery, which means the Encore 10K can manage 11 hours of usage, compared to the Encore 10’s comparatively meagre 7 hours.

And, of course, don’t forget that both devices run on Microsoft’s new Windows 10 straight out of the box.

The Encore 10 will retail at either $299 or $399 depending on whether you go with Windows 10 or spring for Windows 10 Professional.

The Encore 10K with a keyboard dock will cost you a bit more, pricing at at a hefty $479.
