Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands announced as open world shooter

In an Apple-style ‘one more thing’ moment, Ubisoft announced Ghost Recon Wildlands adding to its growing roster of Tom Clancy games.

Unlike The Division and Rainbow Six Siege, Wildlands is based in an open world where you lead a team of Ghosts as part of a four-player US Elite Special Unit. Your mission is to take down a Santa Blanca drug cartel with Bolivia providing the scenic backdrop.

You’ll be able to roam and explore the vast environment and upgrade skills. There’ll be plenty of weapons at your disposal as well as vehicles and drones to complete your missions.

There’ll be the option to play missions in co-op with three other players or go it alone in solo mode. You’ll be able to choose when to complete missions and whether that’s done by taking the tactical, stealth or all out assault approach.

Ghost Recon Wildlands is coming to the Xbox One, PS4 and the PC although Ubisoft has yet to say when we can play the ambitious-sounding shooter.

When it comes to open world games, Ubisoft has plenty of experience in the field so we’re fully expecting them to create a big, beautiful environment to explore. We just hope the gameplay lives up to the pretty impressive announcement trailer, which you can see below.
