Titanfall PC edition troubled by ‘unexpected downtime’ at launch

With Titanfall having launched in the US yesterday, publisher EA has confirmed the release of the eagerly awaited game has been plagued by connectivity and server issues.

Having landed for Xbox One and PC, with an Xbox 360 edition to follow, the Titanfall release has seen the FPS offering troubled by “unexpected downtime” according to the game’s manufacturer.

With Titanfall’s multiplayer nature requiring an internet connection for the game to be playable, this is a bigger issue than if faced by most other titles.

Titanfall is currently experiencing connection problems, which means you may not be able to connect to online play, or even might get dropped from an online match you’re currently playing,” EA announced via its official support pages.

The publisher added: “Rest assured that we’re addressing this problem and will provide updates as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.”

According to affected gamers, Origin, the EA hosted PC game platform is kicking back the error code: “Disconnect: ORIGIN error retrieving player data from storage – code 503″.

The PC downtime issues follow similar issues with the game’s Xbox Live support, a series of problems that UK gamers will hope to avoid when Titanfall hits British shores this Friday, March 14.
