The upcoming multiplayer beta for Titanfall 2 is only coming to PS4 and Xbox One, Respawn Entertainment announced yesterday.

If you’re someone who happens to play exclusively on PC, we’ve got some bad news for you.

Respawn has confirmed that the open beta for Titanfall 2 will miss out on PC entirely, opting instead to focus on the console experience.

CEO and co-founder of Respawn, Vince Zampella, confirmed the news in a recent blog post:

"More platforms can be a good sanity check, but we don't need to test them all to make sure we are on a good path for launch," Zampella said.

According to Zampella, the Titanfall 2 “multiplayer stress test” is skipping PC due to the immense amount of hardware variety and system optimization required on the platform.

"We're still making a lot of tweaks and changes to the renderer, the game, and effects so we haven't run the game through the hardware compatibility lab yet to detect and handle a large variety of hardware--video cards, CPUs, etc.," Zampella explained. "Quite frankly, we aren't ready to deal with that yet, we are still making the game better."

Zampella also noted that some sneaky PC players might be tempted to snoop inside the game’s code, digging up story secrets that may lead to major spoilers.

Better safe than sorry, I guess? In addition to addressing PC players, Zampella also teased when we can expect the beta to begin.
