Titanfall 2 has a free multiplayer trial this week

Respawn Entertainment has announced a free multiplayer trial for Titanfall 2, and you can play it right now.

The free trial is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC for EA and Origin Access members. Those not subscribed to the service will gain access on Friday, December 2.

Electronic Arts hasn’t disclosed how long the free period will last, only describing it as a “limited time free trial” designed to showcase the game’s multiplayer to new players.

If you do plan on trying it out, all your unlocks and progress will carry over to the full game if you decide to pick it up.

Titanfall 2 launched in October to hugely positive reviews yet ultimately disappointing sales. The sudden emergence of a free trial might be a way of swaying those yet to give it a chance.

Hopefully it works, since Titanfall 2 is a truly brilliant shooter. We scored it 9/10 in our review, describing it as an “essential, all-out action FPS” well worth your time.

Titanfall 2’s first batch of free DLC, Angel City’s Most Wanted, also drops today to accompany the free trial.
