Tiny Rebel’s Beer Money mobile game is Theme Park for craft beer lovers

Whether its restaurants, farms, theme parks, zoos, crime empires or armies, the mobile app stores are awash with ‘build it from the ground up’ strategy games.

However, amid the endless opportunities to start a drug cartel or run a football club, where are all the games allowing craft beer lovers to live out their digital dreams by starting a brewery?

Enter Newport-based Tiny Rebel, one of the UK’s most illustrious independent breweries, and its new game Beer Money Inc.

Available on the App Store and Google Play Store, it enables fans of the timeless combination of hops, grain, yeast and water, to start their own brewing empire.

You’ll follow in Tiny Rebel’s footsteps by buying ingredients and brewing them up your garage, before working your way up to a massive new brewery and a burgeoning roster of international customers.

You’ll hire staff, upgrade equipment and eventually move into new premises as your empire gains traction with the craft beer-loving masses.

“You start in the garage of Brad’s parents, where things really did begin,” the company says. “Bringing you all the way through to literally this week, where the final level takes place and you get to brew all our new collab beers released last Thursday!”

“The goal being to spend less money to make the beer than you make by selling the beer, and then using those profits to upgrade your brewery and buy more ingredients,” the company says on its blog.

In our view the brewery missed a trick by not calling this game ‘Beercraft’, but we’re still excited to take this for a spin while enjoying a nice pint of Cwtch.

The app, developed by Tiny Rebel Games (no relation), which made the Doctor Who games, is available now and is free to download. There are no ads either, which is a nice change of pace.

We’ll drink to that.
