At the current rate of pre-show revelations, by the time Mobile World Congress finally starts next week, there will be very little new products to be announced.
We’ve already seen pre-show announcements from Panasonic, ZTE and LG itself, as well as leaked reports about HTC and Nokia in the past week and now LG has weighed-in with another pre-show announcement.
The South Korean company has announced that it will launch three new phones in the L-Style range, all of which will feature a similar thin, square, metallic design with a warm leather-like back – all of which is very reminiscent of the LG Prada 3.0 phone we saw late last year.
Another feature copied from the Prada 3.0 phone is LG’s new Floating Mass display technology, which make it seem as if the screen is floating in mid-air. This is as a result of the actual display being so close to the glass front.
The three phones, seen from left to right in the picture above, will be the L3, L5 and L7. The L3 will have a 3.2in display running Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and will launch next month in Europe.
The L5 and L7 will both run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and will feature 4in and 4.3in screens respectively. Both these models will launch in the first half of the year.
Other details have yet to be announced including how much they will cost but we will be on the ground in Barcelona next week to get some hands-on time with these L-Style phones and get all the details for you.
While LG may have jumped the gun with the launch of these three Android smartphones, we also expect the company to launch the more premium X3 handset, which is something to look forward to.
