Three begins same-day smartphone deliveries, but only in London

Three Mobile is offering some customers in the capital the chance to have their new handset delivered on the same day.

London-based smartphone fanciers buying the iPhone 6 and the Samsung Galaxy S5 can get it by 6pm if a phone order is placed between 7am and 3pm, Monday-Friday.

The service is limited to select postcodes in London, but it will be perfect for those city dwellers who can’t be bothered to brave the Christmas crowds to grab their handset and when next day delivery just won’t suffice.

Three says it’ll deliver to any eligible residential or business address in London, so folks can have the handset to delivered to their workplace with limited fuss.

In its official correspondence, Three wrote: “Here at Three we’re always trying to make it easier for people to get their hands on their dream phone, so we’re trialling a same day delivery service in selected London postcodes, for people who would like either a Samsung Galaxy S5 or the iPhone 6.

“There’s nothing like a bit of retail therapy in your lunch hour and these days many of us prefer doing it online. But there’s something frustrating about seeing an item you really, really want and waiting a day or so until you can get your hands on it. You may not be able to get to the shops or be stuck at home waiting for a courier, only for them to turn up while you’re in the bath!”

Three is charging £15 for the service, but one would imagine the type of
person taking the network up on its offer won’t really care about that.
