This 88-inch Samsung beast is the world’s largest quantum dot 4K TV
Samsung has used its IFA 2016 press conference to introduce a new line of quantum dot TVs, and there’s one model which has caught our eye.
The new KS9800 is an 88-inch beast that also happens to be the world’s largest quantum dot TV.
Samsung introduced the new set as part of a range of quantum dot SUHD TVs which includes 19 models ranging from 43 to 88-inches.

Quantum dot is a display technology that uses incredibly small particles and means you’ll get higher peak brightness, vastly improved colour accuracy, and higher colour saturation – making it a perfect technology for displaying HDR images.
And
What’s more, quantum dots should ensure no burn-in, which is probably why Samsung has introduced a new 10-year warranty with its new sets.

The new range also comes with an updated version of the Samsung Smart TV UI which adds auto-detection so the TV can recognise whether you’re connecting a console or streaming box etc.
And there’s also built-in Steam Link support, so if you’ve been dying to play PC games on a giant 88-inch screen, you should be able to stream your Overwatch sessions to the KS9800 with no problem.
Samsung also used its IFA event to announce its TV Plus VOD service will be expanded from South Korea to the US and Europe next year.
There’s no word on prices or release dates for the new TV range as yet, but stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
