There’s a wireless NES Classic pad because we’re not sat inches from the TV anymore
When the NES Classic was announced earlier this year, eyebrows were raised at the mightily short 2.5ft cable attached to the controller.
While that might have been OK in the 80s, when we had to be inches from our tiny bedroom TVs, it’s not so handy in 2016 in the era 50-inch 4K TVs.
So, almost inevitably, one third-party manufacturer has added a modern twist with the wireless Miniboss for NES Classic Edition.
Thanks to a simple USB dongle, retro gamers will be able to play the original Mario from up to 30ft away.

Of course, this solution means you’ll lose some of the glory of using ‘original’ Nintendo-branded controllers, but we think your retinas will thank you for it.
The Classic Edition comes with 30 NES games built in, but there’s no opportunity to use old cartridges. It also seems as if there’ll be no opportunity to add new games in the future either.
