The Xbox One S continues to lay the smackdown on the Sony PS4
The Xbox One S has revived Microsoft’s fortunes in the console wars against Sony, with the platform outselling the PS4 for the fourth straight month in the US.
New figures from NPD show the Xbox One retained its lead in the month of October, perhaps thanks to the aggressive pricing of the Xbox One S, which offers a slimmer design, more power and a 4K Blu-ray player.
The success in the US follows wins for Microsoft in the UK and Australia.

Microsoft is all about those wins and released a statement (via Neowin) saying: “
The Xbox One S launch came before Sony released a slimmer PS4 console, with a redesigned controller.
However, Sony’s move has failed to move the needle. Perhaps that’ll change at the end of November once the PS4 Pro is on sale.
There’s also the Black Friday sales to consider. Whomever offers the best deals on console at the start of the holiday season will be able to carry that momentum into the New Year.
One thing is for sure, Sony’s period of dominance over the Xbox One is over. It’s game on again in the console wars.
