Jonathan Blow's next game, The Witness, is landing on PS4 and PC in January, it has been confirmed.

The next game from the creator of Braid finally has a release date; a mere five years after it was originally announced.

The Witness will start players scratching their heads on January 26, 2016 it has emerged.

To give you a bit of the backstory, Braid was released in August 2008 and Blow stated he started work on The Witness as soon as he was finished with Braid.

It was originally planned for a 2011 release date, but over four years later, we're finally getting a release date.

"We'll be very happy to get the game out into the world, because we've been working on it a long time!" said Blow on the PlayStation Blog. "We originally thought The Witness would be coming out towards the end of the PS4 launch window, but ... there's just been a lot to do. I think when the game is in your hands, you'll find it to be intricate and deep, and also unlike anything else you've played."
