CD Projekt Red has revealed The Witcher 3 cost £53 million to make.
The Witcher 3 cost a whopping £53 million to make overall, developer CD Projekt Red has confirmed in its latest financial briefing.
Speaking during its briefing, the translation of which has now been published, CEO Adam Kicinski stated the game's total budget - including marketing and development costs - was 306 million złoty or around £53 million.
That was spread across three and a half years among 240 in-house developers, with the total developer headcount globally reaching 1500 people.

But, if you're thinking that's a lot of money, it's nothing compared to some of the other major gaming titles.
Apparently GTA 5 cost a ridiculous £170 million to make, while Star Wars: The Old Republic's costs apparently soared upward of £100 million.
Destiny's budget reportedly is around the £325 million mark. Possibly the most expensive of the lot.
Bear in mind that none of those figures have been officially confirmed by the publishers or developers of the games.
The figure for CD Projekt Red's The Witcher 3 has certainly been worth it. The game sold six million copies in the first six weeks on sale.
