The Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book just got another major improvement

Microsoft will be rolling out new drivers for its Surface Book and Surface Pro 4, bringing camera improvements to the devices.

The company introduced firmware updates for its 2-in-1 and laptop earlier this month, which fixed certain Surface Pen and touchscreen issues.

But these latest tweaks should boost overall camera performance, as well as bring improvements to Windows Hello – Microsoft’s biometric login system.

Windows Insiders on the Fast Ring and Release Preview have reportedly already received the update, and we expect Microsoft to make it available to all users soon.

Microsoft is yet to update its driver history pages for the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Book, but once it does, more information on the new firmware should be available.

The whole update appears to be geared towards improving Windows Hello, as Microsoft prepares for the release of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update, due August 2.

With a host of new features, the anniversary update is the single biggest update to Windows 10 since its launch.

Improvements include updates for Microsoft’s voice assistant Cortana and the new Edge browser, plus the all-new Windows Ink platform that’ll make drawing on Windows 10 tablets a joy.

It’ll also take in every Windows 10-based device, from PC, tablets and smartphones to the Xbox One and HoloLens, thanks to Microsoft’s Universal App initiative.
