The original Disgaea is coming to PC in 2016

Nippon Ichi has announced that a “definitive” version of the original Disgaea is coming to PC.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness first released for the Playstation 2 way back in 2003, now it’s coming to PC.

The first entry in the Disgaea franchise will receive a variety of improvements on PC, including all of the extra content found in different versions of the game.

Nippon Ichi Software has allegedly taken “special care” to optimize the game for PC, including a bunch of platform-specific features.

The PC version will support higher resolutions, improved in-game textures and an all new mouse and keyboard control scheme.

Steam features such as cloud saves, achievements and trading cards will also be supported.

You can check out the game’s system requirements on the official Steam page. Don’t worry, if a PS2 can run this game, chances are your PC can too.

Mac and Linux are not supported, and there is no word on whether it will be coming to these platforms in the future.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness was also ported to PSP and Nintendo DS in the past, the PC version will feature all of the exclusive content found in these versions.

This includes Etna Mode, where players can play through the main game as everyone’s favourite Prinny Master.

Nippon Ichi hasn’t said anything about the possibility of other Disgaea titles coming to PC, but it could depend on how well this first release performs.

Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance launched for PS4 in October 2015, marking the series’ first appearance on Sony’s new console.

Disgaea: Hour of Darkness will be available on PC in February 2016.
