The Order: 1886 official trailer released with new story details

Update: A brand new official The Order: 1886 trailer has been released, building the hype for this PS4 exclusive.

You get to take a look at Ready at Dawn’s neo Victorian London, where the game is set.

“In The Order: 1886, we present our neo Victorian London; an alternate version of history centred around an age old war, where mystery and technological advances take centre stage,” explains Ready at Dawn. “This conflict pitted mankind against half-breeds in a battle for survival and has been fought over centuries. This became the catalyst for the noblest warriors of their time to come together in an alliance, to form an Order who bravely battled to hold the line for hundreds of years.”

The Order members have remained secret, cloaked by history and legend, but the Industrial Revolution means that new weaponry has to be implemented by the Knights. The Order will also have to contend with the Rebellion, a new group out of Whitechapel that strike out against the The Order and the Monarchy.

“Everyone here at Ready at Dawn is hard at work on the game – it’s been great to see all the excitement and we promise to share more soon!”

Original Story: Screenshots and a gameplay trailer for upcoming PS4 exclusive, The Order: 1886 have leaked online.

So far the only official footage of the game we’ve seen publicly is an engine-created CG trailer released when announcing the game.

However, now new screenshots and the first gameplay trailer of The Order: 1886 have emerged online following a private showing of the game by Sony.

The gameplay trailer reveals that Ready at Dawn have managed to seamlessly blend cutscenes and actual gameplay, due to the game’s next-gen visuals.

The footage below is mainly a live gameplay stream that looks undeniably beautiful and could be a interesting and engaging title for the PS4 when it launches later this year.

VGLeaks has also published some screengrabs from the gameplay footage that will give you a clearer look at some of the visual details you’ll be able to expect from The Order: 1886.

Earlier this month, Andrea Pessino, the co-founder of Ready at Dawn, confirmed The Order: 1886 would be single-player only.

A curios gamer asked whether the game would feature a “competitive multiplayer mode”, but Pessino replied:

“No multiplayer, it is a single player, third person action adventure game.”

The game was originally announced in June 2013 at E3 as a brand new IP for the PS4. It is set in an alternate history mixing Victorian London with comparatively modern technologies and some mythical creatures.

The Order: 1886 comes from the developer responsible for titles like God of War: Age of Olympus, so it should be quite the game.
