The Microsoft Surface 3 is falling off this mortal coil

Stocks of the Microsoft Surface 3 hybrid are dwindling around the world and it appears Redmond has no intention of replenishing them.

The popular tablet, which sits below the Surface Pro range, is hard to come by on the Microsoft Store and at Best Buy in the US.

Meanwhile, in the UK, they’re out of stock at Currys PC World and the Microsoft Store, while Amazon has just one model remaining at an unattractive price point.

A bit of detective work from Neowin discovered it’s also wiped out in France and Australia, barring the odd straggler model.

Microsoft announced it would stop making the Windows 10 tablet in June this year.

However, the firm did not announce a replacement at its recent event where the Surface Studio and Surface Book i7 made their debuts.

The Surface 3 received a near-perfect 9/10 score from TrustedReviews in our updated tests this summer.

Our own Andy Vandervell dubbed it “the best everyday Windows hybrid we’ve seen” lavishing praise on the screen, battery life and versatility.
