A The Last of Us Remastered release date has been teased, with leading retailers suggesting the game will hit the PS4 on June 20.
Having been officially confirmed last week, the PS4-bound reimagining of the PS3 success has yet to be formally dated for launch by publisher Sony or developer Naughty Dog.

Although Sony has yet to reveal a precise The Last of Us Remastered release date, the company has stated the game will launch during “summer 2014”, a window which includes the tipped June 20 arrival. Despite the lack of a formal release date, the game is already available for pre-order.
With The Last of Us having long been rumoured for a jump across to Sony’s next-gen PS4 console, the former PS3 exclusive will see visuals “turned up to 11,” according to the game’s developers.
“Well, it’s no secret that we have been working night and day at the studio to bring The Last of Us to PS4.” Arne Meyer, Naughty Dog’s Community Strategist said in making the announcement via the official PlayStation blog last week.
He added: “We’re calling it The Last of Us Remastered.”
Moving to 1080p, Full HD visuals, The Last of Us Remasted will compile the complete launch title, plus all the bonus content made available through the recent Left Behind DLC expansion pack.
“Moving our efforts to the PS4 has allowed us to remaster an already phenomenal looking The Last of Us in 1080p with a list of upgrades including higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, along with even more improvements,” Meyer said.
“We love setting challenging technical hurdles for us when working on each game – and this is no different. We’ve been working hard on The Last of Us Remastered to release a next-gen evolution worthy of the 200 plus Game of the Year awards, not to mention the acclaim and expectations of our fans.
“We will be revealing more detailed information about the upgrades for the PS4 version in the coming months.”
