If you’ve been following Android N “Nougat” operating system through the preview stages, you’ve probably noticed the absence of an Easter egg; the little mini games Google often hides within major new versions.
Now the wait is over, with the launch of Developer Preview 5 earlier this week comes the inclusion of a weird bonus that involves luring a cat with different treats.
To get to the Android 7.0 Easter egg, you’ll need to embark on a more complex route than recent means of accessing the Flappy Bird-like game in previous versions.
In the Settings menu, you’ll need to find “About Phone” and progress to Android Version. Tapping this multiple times brings up the Android N logo.
Accounts of the method (via Pocket-Lint) outline how you’ll need to press the N a few times before holding until the cat icon shows up.

It gets even more convoluted after this. The next step is to access the quick settings and tapping edit. Now you should see a "???? Android Easter egg" option, which you can drag to the main quick settings menu.
Ok, now we’re getting somewhere. Hit the home button, drag down to reveal quick settings and then select the new option reading “empty plate” to serve up four options: Bits, Fish, Chicken and Treat.
Pick one and move on with your day. If you get a notification on your lock screen from Android Neko reading “A cat is here,” you’ll know you’ve successfully lured the cat. You can then share it, rename it to social media.
It seems you can even collect them too! It's hardly Pokemon Go, but it'll do. Check out the method in the video below.
