The countdown is on! New Duke Nukem game nearly here

Do you like kicking ass and chewing bubble gum, but you’re all out of gum? Then you’ve come to the right place.

The official Duke Nukem website is now showing a ‘Coming Soon’ countdown clock, leading to an announcement on September 2.

The page, which displays “Happy 20th Anniversary” bunting could be tied into the reveal of a new game for the beloved action franchise.

In fact, a Reddit user claims to have learned it’ll be a remaster of Duke Nukem 3D with new and original content spliced into the mix.

The came will apparently be called Duke Nukem 3D: World Tour, and the poster even claims to have obtained official screenshots, one of which is above.

The source for the leak told Tezzla55:

“These are official. This is a Duke 3D remaster. In many ways, you can look at this game as a Duke Nukem 3D remix as there will be a lot of new/original content added in as well. From my understanding, these screens are just a handful out of a bunch of press shots that will be coming out in the following days.”

While that would make sense, given Duke Nukem 3D turned 20 in January, but there are suggestions this could be a collection of all the games in the series. Personally we’re hoping for an all-new title to finally bring Duke into the 21st century.

Windows Central reports Duke now has official Twitter and Instagram pages, while his Facebook page has been updated for the first time in four years.

Man, there’s a lot more responsibilities that come with being an action hero than when Duke was rocking it back on the Amiga 500.

Let’s hope whatever this announcement entails, the result arrives more promptly than Duke Nukem (Takes) Forever, and is actually playable.
