The Banner Saga 2 could be delayed to 2016

The Banner Saga 2 has been delayed to 2016, according to a recent report.

A report from Eurogamer claims that The Banner Saga 2 will now launch in Q1 2016, according to a representative of publisher Versus Evil.

The Banner Saga 2 was originally planned for release before the end of 2015 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

In a recent facebook post, the developer did not comment on the delay, but happily updated fans on the current status of Banner Saga 2’s development.

“Banner Saga 2’s development is progressing nicely,” it said. “Customers who have attended Gamescom and PAX have seen its progress. We will update everyone on its launch date when the timing is right.”

The developer also has plans to release the original Banner Saga for PS4, Xbox One and PS Vita, and it seems to be coming along nicely.

“We are currently wrapping up development for the first game now.”

“The delays in the console is mainly game development fun, but we have also spent time working on console-specific controls to make it perform as a console game, more than just a port.”

It isn’t clear whether the console ports have played a part in the delay of The Banner Saga 2, but it seems likely.

The Banner Saga 2 was first announced during The Game Awards in December 2014, with a release window planned for some point in 2015.
