The 8 most viral gaming videos of all time

Earlier this week, Leeroy Jenkins turned 10. The World of Warcraft video that gripped the world is a decade old, but it’s still as hilarious as it was back in 2005.

On May 10, ten years ago, a WoW guild called Pals for Life posted a video of one of its members blatantly ignoring tactics for a dungeon battle. Instead, ‘Leeroy Jenkins’ threw caution to the wind and charged into the fight, shouting his name, consequently wiping out the entire clan.

It’s since racked up over 43 million views, making it one of the most viral game videos ever. In tribute, we’ve rounded up the best of gaming’s viral footage, which you’ll find listed below.

But first, here’s the legendary video in full:

Boom Headshot (Counter-Strike)

View Count: 8,190,859

We’ve all met this guy online. The guy who shuts you down on Counter-Strike and proceeds to scream profanities down the microphone while making lewd remarks about your mother and her romantic interests. But he’s not your real daddy. He’s the man in this video. And he’s absolutely mental.

In fact, the soundbites from the Boom Headshot clip were so brilliant that they were remixed by EDM producer Feed Me into a dubstep track called ‘One Click Headshot’.

Invisible Tetris

View Count: 6,100,131

Tetris first launched way back on June 6, 1984, which means we’ve seen a few dab hands at the title since then. None, perhaps, have been so skilled as TGM HOLiC, aka Jin8, who has honed his craft on Tetris: The Grand Master 3 – Terror-Instinct.

The video starts off as you’d expect; he’s incredibly skilled, and we’re incredibly jealous. But at 5 minutes, the blocks become invisible, and we suddenly realise that this man is no mere mortal.

He has become the Tetris.

The Downfall bunker sequence has been parodied more times than Mario’s jumped down a pipe, but this has to be one of the best.

Surprise, surprise – Hitler’s been a naughty boy, and Microsoft has banned his account. And he ain’t happy.
