That Instagram feature you’ve always wanted has now landed

It’s a good day in tech land, the Christmas presents are coming early.

Borrowing Santa’s good will for the day, everyone’s favourite photo-sharing service, Instagram has added a cool new feature, with users now finally able to save posts for later viewing.

Spelling an end to all those Insta screenshots you’ve been forced to capture through the years, the new feature is sure to appease users who’ve been calling out for such an addition for years.

So, how does it work? Well, the next time you see a #foodporn snap or cute kitten pic that you need in your life a little longer, simply click the new bookmark button beneath the post and, well, actually that’s it.

What’s more, with users unable to see when other have bookmarked their snaps, you’ll be able to create a collection of images without giving your friends and followers that little ego rub they so desire with an official ‘Like’.

Once marked, all saved images will populate a new bookmarked folder for viewing whenever you like.

Available now for iOS and Android users, you’ll just need to update your app to access the new feature.

The latest in a recent spate of user-appeasing update, Insta’s new save function comes just weeks after the filter-friendly service introduced an update that allowed users to make drafts for the first time.
