Officially unveiled last week, the Tesco Hudl has been designed and manufactured by the retailer, and is now available to pruchase from hundreds of Tesco stores up and down the country. Landing as a cut-price tablet, the Tesco Hudl sports a quad-core processor and 7-inch display wrapped around an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean OS.
The Tesco Hudl price has been set at a budget £119, although Tesco Clubcard holders can get the device even cheap when using their vouchers which are doubled in value when buying the tablet.
"The Hudl stands for everything we stand for, accessible, convenient, affordable," Philip Clarke, Group CEO of Tesco said in unveiling the product last Monday, September 23..
Tesco Hudl Features
Featuring a specs sheet which exceeds the expectations of the tablet's minimalist price point, the Tesco Hudl sees a HD display paired with a quad-core CPU and dual camera options.
With Android 4.2.2 at its heart, the Tesco Hudl boasts a 7-inch LCD HD display with a 1440 x 900 pixel resolution and a 1.5GHz quad-core processor which should keep the plastic clad Google Nexus 7 competitor running along smoothly. The screen is also bolstered by a scratch resistant coating.
Sporting a flash-free 3-megapixel rear-mounted camera, the Tesco Hudl specs sheet further benefits from a secondary, 2-megapixel snapper up front making video calls and shameless shelfies a breeze.
With 16GB of internal storage able to be expanded by an addition 32GB microSD card. On a connectivity front, the Tesco Hudl, which sports an integrated microUSB and microHDMI connection, adds the usual Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 options.
Building on the Android OS, the Hudl brings Tesco's services to the fore, with a dedicated Tesco softkey button acting as a shortcut to the retailer's online shop fronts and services, from groceries to Blinkbox. The Hudl is available in four colours, black, red, purple and blue.
