Tamagotchis set for shock 2017 comeback?
Everybody’s favourite virtual pets are making a surprise comeback in 2017 with new units now in production.
To celebrate the franchise’s 20th anniversary a selection of new devices are being released in North America. A UK release is yet to be confirmed.
They will retail for $15, which equates to roughly £11 or so. It isn’t being upgraded in any major way, engineered to purposely appeal to the nostalgia of adults who had them as kids.

You can expect the classic egg-shaped design alongside a super tiny LCD screen without a back-light. Weren’t the 1990s just amazing?
The only significant difference is the size of the Tamagotchi itself. It’ll be 60 percent smaller which will make it smaller and far more portable to boot.
Tamagotchis are virtual pets that came into popularity in the 1990s. They had to be fed, played with and cared for otherwise they’d die, which is a bit grim.
