The eagerly-anticipated Sony 'Honami' smartphone - or Xperia 1i under its rumoured launch title - could meet the world early next month according to a purported 'teaser' image.
The somewhat official-looking image, discovered by XperiaBlog, promises an unveiling prior to the IFA tech show in Berlin, on September 4.
Judging by the teaser (above), the device will live up to its super-thin billing. However the design is certainly more curved than some of the previous Xperia bodies, including earlier leaks of this very handset. The frame also looks decidedly purple, contrary to earlier snapshots.
XperiaBlog speculates that this could be down to the angle the photo was shot at, or could be taken as a sign that the teaser, which features Sony's signature power button, is a fake.
Earlier rumours have pointed to the Homani/Xperia 1i as the successor to the impressive Sony Xperia Z smartphone. It's thought to be packing a 20-megapixel camera, a 5-inch full HD display and a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU.
The potential September 4 launch date is interesting as Samsung has confirmed its Unpacked event will take place on the same day.
