Star Wars PS4 Pro is the upgrade excuse you’ve been waiting for

If you’re tempted by a Sony PS4 Pro upgrade but have been holding back the urges until now, this new limited edition design could push you over the edge.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true…

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony announced the Star Wars Battlefront 2 console, which will go on sale next month.

The console features a mirror finish and the emblems of the Galactic Empire and the Resistance. It also features the identifying symbol for the new Inferno Squad, an Imperial task force from the long-awaited single-player campaign mode.

The bundle also features a custom DualShock 4 controller and the deluxe version of the game, which arrives with all of the premium digital content.

That includes “upgraded versions of all four trooper classes with instant access to elite hero and Star Fighter epic Star Cards,” Sony says.

The bundle will cost $449 in the United States and we’re checking on UK availability with Sony as we speak.

If you’re not ready to go Pro and are dipping your toes into the PS4 waters for the first time then you can grab a standard edition of the Star Wars bundle for $299.

Pre-orders for both start today in the US and Canada ahead of the November 17 release date.

Bigger and better?

The new Star Wars Battlefront 2 video game arrives just in time for the theatrical release of Episode VIII – The Last Jedi.

It carries a single-player campaign mode, rectifying perhaps the biggest criticism of its predecessor.

It also promises to deliver a much larger galaxy than the 2015 release.

The number of playable locations has been boosted (from 4 to 18). Meanwhile, the franchise Heroes (from 6 to 14) and the vehicles (from 11 to 39) have been dramatically increased for the new game. The locations, characters and vehicles now span all three Star Wars eras.
