December will see the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Japanese firm SoftBank is taking the opportunity to launch two new Star Wars-branded phones.

The handsets are built by Sharp and come in 'Dark Side' and 'Light Side' versions, with each sporting a suitable hue.

Under the hood you'll find a Snapdragon 820 processor along with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage, with the option of adding a microSD card.

The display is a 5.3-inch 1080p IGZO offering, while the rear camera setup boasts a respectable 22.6-megapixels.

Powering each 7.6mm thick handset is a 3,000mAh battery, and according to the official SoftBank page, the back panel of each "has adopted a polarization panel that changes color depending on the viewing angle."

But what makes these phones worthy of the Star Wars brand? Well, Softbank has provided a load of extras beyond the Star Wars logo on the back plate.

Among them are Live X-Wing or TIE fighter wallpapers, special dark and light side Android 6.0 skins, and a Star Wars Movie Player app that will let you watch The Force Awakens until the year 2020 for some reason.

Other extras include a pre-loaded Star Wars: Force Collection card game, a Star Wars-themed alarm clock app, and Star Wars emoji and ringtones. Buyers of the new devices will also get five exclusive metal figurines from Rogue One.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like the new phones will make it out of Japan, where they're set to launch on December 2.

However, we're sure there'll be no shortage of Star Wars-themed merchandise to get your hands on once Rogue One launches on December 15.
