Star Wars coming to Disney Infinity

In news surely surprising no one, it’s emerged that Disney will be incorporating Star Wars characters into its Disney Infinity universe.

The news comes via a retailer leak. Germany’s Saturn has posted a listing for Disney Infinity 3.0’s starter set, and it includes Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka from the Star Wars franchise – in particular, from the Clone Wars CGI cartoon series.

The pack art also reveals the availability of more beloved Star Wars characters, including R2-D2, Obi Wan, Yoda, Darth Vader, C-3PO, Darth Maul, and Princess Leia.

Disney Infinity 3.0 is listed for PS3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, and should launch some time in August for between €59.99 and €69.99.

We also get a glimpse at a couple of vehicles from the box art, including a Naboo star fighter and Anakin’s pod racer.

This reveal follows a previous leak that outed new Disney characters coming to Disney Infinity 3.0. Chief among these will be the iconic rodent himself, Mickey Mouse, as well as the equally iconic (to those of a certain age) Olaf from Frozen. Oh, and Mulan.

According to Polygon‘s sources, Star Wars integration has been in the works for the game series since Disney Infinity 2.0. That release, of course, brought in Disney’s other high profile IP acquisition of recent years, adding Marvel superheroes to the mix.
